Meet Our Principal Shareholder

The principal shareholder of Treetop Accounting & Taxes PC is Damaris James, CPA. Damaris strives to be the best at what she does. After returning to college as a non-traditional student, she graduated at the top of her class from Cedar Crest College in the Lehigh Valley, PA with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting. At graduation, she was recognized as the Student of the Year in Business and received an award from the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA), as nominated by her professors. Within a year of graduation, she passed the CPA exam, and within two years she was licensed as a CPA. She’s been dedicated to her career in public accounting ever since for the past 20 years.

Staying up-to-date with tax law and accounting changes in her profession is just as important. Damaris prioritizes continuing education, which oftentimes leads to timely advice to her clients. An avid researcher, she believes knowledge is gained, not given.

Other ways to keep updated includes affiliations with professional associations such as the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the PICPA, and the Pennsylvania Society of Tax & Accounting Professionals (PSTAP). She is an active member of the local chapter of the PSTAP which meets regularly, allowing for interchange on current and upcoming issues potentially affecting clients.
